Trainers combined refresher course - physical intervention and handcuff training

Who is the course designed for?
Already qualified trainers who need to requalify to teach physical intervention and handcuffing skills.
You should already hold an in-date licence to practice (ie; certificate) to deliver both course. For those trainers with either of these qualifications through a different awarding organisation we can map across your current qualification.
The successful completion of this course will enable you to deliver physical skills programmes across a wider range of work sector settings, including Education, Children’s Services, Health and Social Care, NHS, Local Authority, Hospitality, Retail, Transport Services (ie; Air, Sea and Rail travel).
Course syllabus
You will be re-qualified to deliver physical intervention and handcuffing skills. Â To support your delivery of training courses you will receive the following trainer support materials:
- Discuss industry updates
- Discuss the Health & Safety and duty of care requirements for a safe working environment
- Review communication models to support the delivery of training courses
- Review the professional and legal implications regarding the use of force
- Demonstrate application of physical intervention and/or handcuffing techniques
- Deliver physical intervention and/or handcuffing technique (ie; micro teaches)
- Observation assessment of you delivering physical intervention skills techniques
